Masjid Al-Khairiyah

Masjid Al-Khairiyah is the second mosque in Taman Seri Gombak and was built to accommodate the rapid growth of the Muslim population in Taman Seri Gombak and its surrounding areas. The mosque was officially inaugurated on 21 Jumadal Ula 1425H, corresponding to 9 July 2004, by His Royal Highness the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Al-Haj Ibni Almarhum Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Al-Haj.

Its design is based on a Malay architectural concept with the incorporation of Islamic architectural elements. Originally, the mosque could accommodate up to 4,000 congregants at any one time; however, the provision of lecture rooms, seminar rooms, meeting rooms, administrative offices, a marriage room, a library, and other facilities has slightly reduced the capacity of the prayer area.

Masjid Al-Khairiyah has received various awards/achievements, which have elevated its name to stand alongside other major mosques. Among them are:

• @ 2025 – Approval from the Selangor Islamic Religious Department for 24-Hour Mosque Status

• @ 2025 – Excellence Award for Organizing a National-Level Blood Donation Campaign

• @ 2024 – Selangor State Best Mosque Award (Category: Centre of Worship)

• @ 2023 – Highest Blood Donation Collection Award for Campaign Organizers at the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur-Level

• @ 2015 – Selangor State Best Mosque Award

• @ 2014 – Top 20 Best Mosques in Selangor Award

• @ 2014 – 5-Star Toilet Award from the Selayang Municipal Council

• @ 2009, 2010, 2011 – Best Mosque Award, Gombak District

 

Beginning in February 2025, Masjid Al-Khairiyah took a step further in extending the excellence of its mosque activities onto the international stage with the official opening of Surau Al-Khairiyah Gombak in Gaza, Palestine. Close collaboration with the NGO Muslim Care Malaysia made this aspiration of the mosque community a reality through the establishment of the surau/musolla on the land of Gaza, which has been ravaged by the occupying regime...
